قَالَ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ بِبَغْدَادَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ سَعْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ بِحَسْبِ أَصْحَابِي الْقَتْلُ.
English Translation
My father said: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us at Baghdad: Abu Malik al-Ashja'i, Sa'd ibn Tariq, informed us, from his father, that he heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Killing is a sufficient [trial] for my Companions.
