حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ قَالَ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُكْرِي الْمَزَارِعَ فَبَلَغَهُ أَنَّ رَافِعًا يَأْثِرُ فِيهِ حَدِيثًا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِلَى الْبَلَاطِ فَسَأَلَهُ فَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْمَزَارِعِ فَتَرَكَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ كِرَاءَهَا قَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ فَذَهَبَ إِلَيْهِ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَذَهَبْتُ مَعَهُ وَكَذَا قَالَ أَبِي و حَدَّثَنَاه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ أَيْضًا قَالَ فَذَهَبَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَذَهَبْتُ مَعَهُ.
English Translation
Yahya ibn Sa'id and Ibn Numayr told us, both saying: Ubaydullah told us - Yahya said: from Ubaydullah - Nafi' informed me, who said: Ibn Umar used to lease out farmland, until it reached him that Rafi' related a hadith about it from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. So Ibn Umar went out to him at al-Balat and asked him, and he informed him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade the leasing of farmland, so Abdullah gave up leasing it. Ibn Numayr said in his account: "So Ibn Umar went to him, and I went with him" - and my father said likewise; and Muhammad ibn Ubayd also related it to us, saying: "So Ibn Umar went, and I went with him."
