حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي خُبَيْبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ نِيَارٍ قَالَ جَاءَ سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ إِلَى مَجْلِسِنَا فَحَدَّثَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا خَرَصْتُمْ فَجُدُّوا وَدَعُوا دَعُوا الثُّلُثَ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجُدُّوا وَتَدَعُوا فَدَعُوا الرُّبُعَ.
English Translation
Sahl ibn Abi Hathmah came to their gathering and narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When you estimate the harvest, take it and leave a third. If you do not take it and leave a third, then leave a quarter.'
