English Translation
Mu'awiyah wrote to Abd al-Rahman ibn Shibl: 'Teach the people what you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).' So he gathered them and said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Learn the Quran, and when you have learned it, do not be excessive about it, do not neglect it, do not make a livelihood from it, and do not seek to increase your wealth through it.'
