حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ أَبِي خُزَامَةَ أَحَدَ بَنِي الْحَارِثِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ هُذَيْمٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ دَوَاءً نَتَدَاوَى بِهِ وَرُقًى نَسْتَرْقِيهَا وَتُقًى نَتَّقِيهِ هَلْ تَرُدُّ ذَلِكَ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهُ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَيَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي خُزَامَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَبِي وَهُوَ الصَّوَابُ كَذَا قَالَ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ.
English Translation
Harun told us: Ibn Wahb told us: Amr informed me, from Ibn Shihab, that Ibn Abi Khuzamah, one of Banu al-Harith ibn Sa'd ibn Hudhaym, told him that his father told him that he said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think of medicines with which we treat ourselves, incantations with which we seek healing, and precautions we take against something - do they avert anything of the decree of Allah, Blessed and Exalted?" The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is part of the decree of Allah, Mighty and Majestic." Husayn ibn Muhammad and Yahya ibn Abi Bukayr told us, from Sufyan ibn Uyaynah, from al-Zuhri, from Ibn Abi Khuzamah, from his father - my father said: "and that is correct, as al-Zubaydi said."
