حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَرَوْحٌ قَالَا أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ رَوْحٌ ابْنُ الْعَاصِ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ الْعَابِدِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ قَالَ صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصُّبْحَ بِمَكَّةَ فَاسْتَفْتَحَ سُورَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَ ذِكْرُ مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ أَوْ ذِكْرُ عِيسَى قَالَ رَوْحٌ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ يَشُكُّ وَاخْتَلَفُوا عَلَيْهِ أَخَذَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَعْلَةٌ فَحَذَفَ فَرَكَعَ قَالَ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ السَّائِبِ حَاضِرُ ذَلِكَ.
English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq and Rawh told us, they said: Ibn Jurayj informed us: I heard Muhammad ibn Abbad ibn Ja'far say: Abu Salamah ibn Sufyan and Abdullah ibn Amr - Rawh said "ibn al-As" - and Abdullah ibn al-Musayyab al-Abidi informed me, from Abdullah ibn al-Sa'ib, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led us in the dawn prayer at Makkah and opened with Surat al-Mu'minun. When he came to the mention of Musa and Harun - or the mention of Isa - Rawh said: Muhammad ibn Abbad was uncertain, and they differed about it - a coughing fit seized the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so he cut short the recitation and bowed. He said: and Abdullah ibn al-Sa'ib was present for that.
