حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِامْرَأَةٍ قَدْ سَرَقَتْ فَعَاذَتْ بِرَبِيبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاللَّهِ لَوْ كَانَتْ فَاطِمَةَ لَقَطَعْتُ يَدَهَا فَقَطَعَهَا قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ وَكَانَ رَبِيبُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ وَعُمَرَ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ فَعَاذَتْ بِأَحَدِهِمَا.
English Translation
Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi told us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Zinad told us, from Musa ibn Uqbah, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: A woman was brought to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who had stolen, and she sought refuge with the stepson of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "By Allah, even if she were Fatimah, I would cut off her hand," and he cut it off. Ibn Abi al-Zinad said: The stepson of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was Salamah ibn Abi Salamah and Umar ibn Abi Salamah, and she sought refuge with one of them.
