حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَدِمْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَطُفْنَا بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ النَّحْرِ لَمْ نَقْرَبْ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ.
English Translation
Surayj told us, Hammad - meaning Ibn Zayd - told us, from al-Hajjaj ibn Artah, from Ata', from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: We arrived with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and we circumambulated the House and went between Safa and Marwah. Then when it was the Day of Sacrifice, we did not go near Safa and Marwah.
