English Translation
al-Khuza'i told us, Hammad ibn Salama informed us, Abu al-Zubayr informed us, from Jabir: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade, at the time of Khaybar, onions and leeks. Some people ate them anyway and then came to the mosque. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Did I not forbid these two foul-smelling plants? They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah, but hunger compelled us. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever eats them, let him not come near our mosque, for the angels are troubled by what troubles the sons of Adam.
