English Translation
'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, he said: 'Ata' said: When Jabir ibn 'Abdullah arrived performing 'Umra, we went to him at his lodging, and the people asked him about various matters. Then they mentioned to him temporary marriage (mut'a), and he said, "Yes, we practiced mut'a during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and Abu Bakr, and 'Umar, until it was near the end of 'Umar's caliphate, may Allah be pleased with him."
