حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ حَدَّثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ أَرَادَ الْغَزْوَ فَقَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ إِنَّ مِنْ إِخْوَانِكُمْ قَوْمًا لَيْسَ لَهُمْ مَالٌ وَلَا عَشِيرَةٌ فَلْيَضُمَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَيْهِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ أَوْ الثَّلَاثَةَ فَمَا لِأَحَدِنَا مِنْ ظَهْرِ جَمَلِهِ إِلَّا عُقْبَةٌ كَعُقْبَةِ أَحَدِهِمْ قَالَ فَضَمَمْتُ اثْنَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً إِلَيَّ وَمَا لِي إِلَّا عُقْبَةٌ كَعُقْبَةِ أَحَدِهِمْ مِنْ جَمَلِي.
English Translation
Abidah told us, al-Aswad ibn Qays told us, from Nubayh al-Anazi, from Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari, who related from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: that he intended to go on an expedition and said: "O company of Emigrants and Helpers, among your brothers are people who have no wealth and no clan, so let each of you take in two or three men. For none of us has exclusive use of the back of his camel except by turns, like the turn of one of them." He said: So I took in two or three, and I had no more than a turn like the turn of one of them from my camel.
