حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو أَخْبَرَنِي مَوْلَايَ الْمُطَّلِبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِيدَ الْأَضْحَى فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ أَتَى بِكَبْشٍ فَذَبَحَهُ فَقَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذَا عَنِّي وَعَمَّنْ لَمْ يُضَحِّ مِنْ أُمَّتِي.
English Translation
Ibrahim ibn Abi al-Abbas told us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Zinad told us, from Amr ibn Abi Amr, my master al-Muttalib ibn Abdullah ibn Hantab informed me, that Jabir ibn Abdullah said: I prayed the festival of sacrifice with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. When he finished, a ram was brought and he slaughtered it, saying: "In the name of Allah, and Allah is Greatest. O Allah, this is on behalf of myself and on behalf of whoever of my Ummah did not offer a sacrifice."
