حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ جَابِرًا عَنْ التَّصْفِيقِ وَالتَّسْبِيحِ قَالَ جَابِرٌ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ التَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَالتَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ.
English Translation
Musa told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Abu al-Zubayr, that he asked Jabir about hand-clapping and glorification (in prayer). Jabir said: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say, "Clapping is for the women in prayer, and glorification (saying 'Subhan Allah') is for the men."
