حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ وَحُجَيْنٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ فَإِذَا مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام رَجُلٌ ضَرْبٌ مِنْ الرِّجَالِ كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ فَرَأَيْتُ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام فَإِذَا أَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا عُرْوَةُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ وَرَأَيْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام فَإِذَا أَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا صَاحِبُكُمْ يَعْنِي نَفْسَهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَأَيْتُ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام فَإِذَا أَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا دِحْيَةُ.
English Translation
Yunus and Hujayn told us, they said: Layth told us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said, "The prophets were shown to me. Musa, peace be upon him, was a lean man among men, as if he were one of the men of Shanu'ah. I saw 'Isa son of Maryam, peace be upon him, and the closest in resemblance to him of those I saw was 'Urwah ibn Mas'ud. I saw Ibrahim, peace be upon him, and the closest in resemblance to him of those I saw was your companion" - meaning himself, peace and blessings be upon him - "and I saw Jibril, peace be upon him, and the closest in resemblance to him of those I saw was Dihyah."
