حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ جَابِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْفَارُّ مِنْ الطَّاعُونِ كَالْفَارِّ مِنْ الزَّحْفِ وَالصَّابِرُ فِيهِ كَالصَّابِرِ فِي الزَّحْفِ.
English Translation
Abu Abd al-Rahman told us, Sa'id told us, Amr ibn Jabir told me, he said: I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari say: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "One who flees from the plague is like one who flees from the battle line, and one who is patient in it is like one who is patient in the battle line."
