حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ح وَرَوْحٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ كَتَبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى كُلِّ بَطْنٍ عُقُولَهُ ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ كَتَبَ أَنَّهُ لَا يَحِلُّ أَنْ يُتَوَالَى مَوْلَى رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِهِ قَالَ رَوْحٌ يُتَوَلَّى.
English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ibn Jurayj informed us - and Rawh: Ibn Jurayj informed us - Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wrote for every clan its blood-money obligations; then he further wrote that it is not permissible for a Muslim man's freed client to be claimed in clientage by another without his permission. Rawh said: "be claimed in clientage (yutawalla)".
