English Translation

Yahya told us, from Ja'far: my father told me, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say in his sermon after the tashahhud: "Indeed the best of speech is the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad." Yahya said: I do not know it except that he said: "and the worst of matters are those newly invented." And when he mentioned the Hour, his voice would rise and his anger would intensify, as though he were warning of an approaching army; then he would say: "I have been sent, and the Hour, like these two" - and he gestured, Yahya described it, with the index and middle fingers.
