English Translation

Abdullah said: I found in my father's book: Abu Sa'id, the client of Banu Hashim, told us, Za'idah told us, Abdullah ibn Muhammad told us, from Jabir ibn Abdullah: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Abu Bakr, "When do you pray the Witr?" He said, "At the beginning of the night, after the night prayer." He said, "And you, O Umar?" He said, "At the end of the night." He said, "As for you, O Abu Bakr, you have taken the way of caution; and as for you, O Umar, you have taken the way of strength."
