حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ قَالَ جَعْفَرٌ قَالَ أَبِي وَقَضَى بِهِ عَلِيٌّ بِالْعِرَاقِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ كَانَ أَبِي قَدْ ضَرَبَ عَلَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ وَلَمْ يُوَافِقْ أَحَدٌ الثَّقَفِيَّ عَلَى جَابِرٍ فَلَمْ أَزَلْ بِهِ حَتَّى قَرَأَهُ عَلَيَّ وَكَتَبَ عَلَيْهِ هُوَ صَحَّ.
English Translation
Abd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafi told us, from Ja'far, from his father, from Jabir: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, judged on the basis of an oath together with a single witness. Ja'far said: My father said: And Ali judged by it in Iraq. Abu Abd al-Rahman said: My father had struck through this hadith. He said: No one agreed with al-Thaqafi about this being from Jabir, so I kept pressing him until he read it to me and wrote upon it: "It is sound."
