English Translation
Ishaq told us, Abd al-Malik told us, from Ata', from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: We used to perform tamattu' in the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, until Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, later forbade us — meaning tamattu' involving women.
