حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ يَقُولُ { بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ }.
English Translation
Anas said: 'I prayed with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman, and I did not hear any of them recite Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim (audibly at the start of prayer).'
