حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسَاحِقٍ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ مَا رَأَيْتُ إِمَامًا أَشْبَهَ صَلَاةً بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ إِمَامِكُمْ هَذَا قَالَ وَكَانَ عُمَرُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ لَا يُطِيلُ الْقِرَاءَةَ.
English Translation
Surayj told us: Fulayh told us, from Muhammad ibn Musahiq, from Amir ibn Abd Allah, he said: Anas ibn Malik said: "I have never seen an imam whose prayer more resembled the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, than this imam of yours." He said: And Umar - meaning Ibn Abd al-Aziz - did not prolong the recitation.
