حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْإِزَارُ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ فَلَمَّا رَأَى شِدَّةَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ قَالَ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ لَا خَيْرَ فِيمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ.
English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zurayi' narrated to us, Humayd narrated to us, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "The lower garment should reach halfway down the shin." But when he saw how difficult that was for the Muslims, he said, "To the ankles—there is no good in what is below that."
