حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ وَلِأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ يَوْمَانِ يَلْعَبُونَ فِيهِمَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقَالَ قَدِمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَكُمْ يَوْمَانِ تَلْعَبُونَ فِيهِمَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَبْدَلَكُمْ بِهِمَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُمَا يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ النَّحْرِ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abdullah told us: Humayd told us, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'I came to Medina, and the people of Medina had two days in which they used to play, in the Age of Ignorance.' He said: 'I have come to you, and you have two days in which you play; God, Mighty and Majestic, has given you better than them: the day of Fitr and the day of sacrifice.'
