English Translation
Ali ibn Asim told us: Husayn ibn Abd al-Rahman informed us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: Abu Talha came with two mudds of barley and ordered it made into food, then said to me: 'O Anas, go to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and invite him, for you know what we have.' He said: So I went to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while his companions were with him, and I said: 'Abu Talha invites you to his food.' So he rose and said to the people: 'Get up,' and they got up. I walked in front of him until I entered upon Abu Talha and told him. He said: 'You have disgraced us!' I said: 'I could not refuse the command of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him.' When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, reached the door, he said to them: 'Sit down,' and he entered as the tenth of ten. When he entered, the food was brought; he took some and ate, and the people ate with him until they were satisfied. Then he said to them: 'Get up, and let ten more enter in your place,' until all the people had entered and eaten. He said: I said, 'How many were they?' He said: 'They were more than eighty.' He said: And there remained enough for the household to be satisfied.
