English Translation
Hashim ibn al-Qasim told us, Sulayman told us, from Thabit, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: A man invited the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, so he set out, and I went along with him. He said: A stew containing gourd was brought, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, began eating that gourd, and it pleased him. When I saw that, I began putting it before him and not eating any of it myself. Anas said: I have loved it ever since. Sulayman said: I related this hadith to Sulayman al-Taymi, and he said, "We never came to Anas ibn Malik during the season of gourds without finding him eating it."
