English Translation
Yahya ibn Ishaq told us, he said: Yahya ibn Ayyub informed us, Humayd al-Tawil told us, he said: I heard Anas ibn Malik say: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "A people will come to you whose hearts are more tender toward Islam than yours." He said: Then the Ash’aris came, among them Abu Musa al-Ash’ari. When they drew near Medina, they began chanting verse, saying, "Tomorrow we shall meet our loved ones, Muhammad and his party." He said: And they were the first to introduce the handshake.
