English Translation
Sulayman ibn Dawud told us, Shu'bah told us, from Hisham ibn Zayd ibn Anas, who said: I heard Anas say: A man from the People of the Book came and greeted the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: Death be upon you. Umar said: O Messenger of Allah, shall I not strike his neck? He said: No. When they greet you, say: And upon you.
