حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ هَلْ خَضَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَمْ يَكُنْ رَأَى مِنْ الشَّيْبِ إِلَّا يَعْنِي يَسِيرًا وَقَدْ خَضَبَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ أَحْسِبُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ.
English Translation
Rawh told us, Hisham told us, from Muhammad, who said: I asked Anas ibn Malik whether the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, dyed his hair. He said: He had not seen much grey hair — only a little. But Abu Bakr and Umar dyed their hair, I think with henna and katam.
