حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ قَالَ سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ أَخَضَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَمْ يَشِنْهُ الشَّيْبُ قِيلَ أَوَشَيْنٌ هُوَ قَالَ كُلُّكُمْ يَكْرَهُهُ إِنَّمَا كَانَتْ شُعَيْرَاتٌ فِي مُقَدَّمِ لِحْيَتِهِ.
English Translation
Yazid ibn Harun informed us: Humayd informed us, he said: Anas was asked, "Did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, dye his hair?" He said, "Gray hair did not mar him." It was said, "Is it a blemish, then?" He said, "All of you dislike it — but it was only a few gray hairs at the front of his beard."
