حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو رَجَاءٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي قِلَابَةَ قَالَ أَنَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَدِيثَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ إِيَّايَ حَدَّثَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ نَفَرًا مِنْ عُكْلٍ ثَمَانِيَةً قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبَايَعُوهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ فَاسْتَوْخَمُوا الْأَرْضَ فَسَقِمَتْ أَجْسَامُهُمْ فَشَكَوْا ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَخْرُجُونَ مَعَ رَاعِينَا فِي إِبِلِهِ فَتُصِيبُونَ مِنْ أَبْوَالِهَا وَأَلْبَانِهَا قَالُوا بَلَى فَخَرَجُوا فَشَرِبُوا مِنْ أَبْوَالِهَا وَأَلْبَانِهَا فَصَحُّوا فَقَتَلُوا الرَّاعِيَ وَأَطْرَدُوا النَّعَمَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَرْسَلَ فِي آثَارِهِمْ فَأُدْرِكُوا فَجِيءَ بِهِمْ فَأَمَرَ بِهِمْ فَقُطِّعَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُمْ وَسُمِرَتْ أَعْيُنُهُمْ ثُمَّ نُبِذُوا فِي الشَّمْسِ حَتَّى مَاتُوا.
English Translation
Isma'il told us, al-Hajjaj ibn Abi Uthman told us, Abu Raja', client of Abu Qilabah, told me, he said: I am relating to you the hadith of Anas ibn Malik exactly as Anas ibn Malik related it to me: that a group of eight men from the tribe of Ukl came to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and pledged allegiance to him on Islam, but they found the land unhealthy, and their bodies fell sick. They complained of this to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, "Will you not go out with our herdsman among his camels, and drink from their urine and milk?" They said, "Yes," so they went out and drank from their urine and milk, and were cured. Then they killed the herdsman and drove off the camels. This reached the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, so he sent men after them, and they were caught and brought back. He ordered that their hands and feet be cut off, and their eyes put out, then they were left in the sun until they died.
