English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah told us, from Qatadah, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and Zayd ibn Thabit ate the pre-dawn meal together. When they finished their pre-dawn meal, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, got up for prayer and prayed. We said to Anas, "How long was there between their finishing their pre-dawn meal and their entering the prayer?" He said, "It was about the time it takes a man to recite fifty verses."
