حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ نُجَيٍّ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَتْ لِي سَاعَةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ يَنْفَعُنِي اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِمَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنِي بِهَا قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَدْخُلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ صُورَةٌ وَلَا كَلْبٌ وَلَا جُنُبٌ قَالَ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا جِرْوٌ لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ تَحْتَ السَّرِيرِ فَأَخْرَجْتُهُ.
English Translation
It was narrated that Hadrat 'Ali (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: I used to spend a little time with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) at night, during which Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, benefited me (as He willed). The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: `The angels do not enter a house in which there is an image or a dog or a person who is junub.` He said: `I looked and found a puppy belonging to al Hasan bin ‘Ali beneath the bed, so I took it out.`
