حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو مَوْلَى الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْتَمِسْ لَنَا غُلَامًا مِنْ غِلْمَانِكُمْ يَخْدُمُنِي فَخَرَجَ بِي أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يُرْدِفُنِي وَرَاءَهُ وَكُنْتُ أَخْدُمُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلَّمَا نَزَلَ فَكُنْتُ أَسْمَعُهُ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أَخْدُمُهُ حَتَّى أَقْبَلْنَا مِنْ خَيْبَرَ وَأَقْبَلَ بِصَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ حُيَيٍّ قَدْ حَازَهَا فَكُنْتُ أَرَاهُ يُحَوِّي وَرَاءَهُ بِعَبَاءَةٍ أَوْ بِكِسَاءٍ ثُمَّ يُرْدِفُهَا وَرَاءَهُ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِالصَّهْبَاءِ صَنَعَ حَيْسًا فِي نِطَعٍ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَنِي فَدَعَوْتُ رِجَالًا فَأَكَلُوا فَكَانَ ذَلِكَ بِنَاءَهُ بِهَا ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ حَتَّى إِذَا بَدَا لَهُ أُحُدٌ قَالَ هَذَا جَبَلٌ يُحِبُّنَا وَنُحِبُّهُ فَلَمَّا أَشْرَفَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُحَرِّمُ مَا بَيْنَ جَبَلَيْهَا كَمَا حَرَّمَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ مَكَّةَ اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِي مُدِّهِمْ وَصَاعِهِمْ.
English Translation
Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi told us, Isma'il informed us, he said, Amr ibn Abi Amr, freedman of al-Muttalib ibn Abdullah ibn Hantab, told me, that he heard Anas ibn Malik say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Abu Talhah, "Find us a boy from among your boys to serve me." So Abu Talhah went out with me, mounting me behind him, and I used to serve the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, whenever he stopped. I used to hear him frequently say, "O Allah, I take refuge in You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being overcome by debt and from being overpowered by men." I continued to serve him until we returned from Khaybar, and he was bringing back Safiyyah bint Huyayy, having taken her. I used to see him fashion a shelter behind him with a cloak or garment, then seat her behind him. Until, when we were at al-Sahba, he prepared a dish of hays on a leather mat, then he sent me and I called some men, and they ate; and that was the occasion of his consummating marriage with her. Then he continued until, when Uhud came into view, he said, "This is a mountain that loves us and we love it." Then when he came in sight of Medina, he said, "O Allah, I declare sacred what is between its two mountains, just as Ibrahim declared Mecca sacred. O Allah, bless them in their mudd and their sa'."
