حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلْمٍ، خَلِيلُ بْنُ سَلْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ذَكْوَانَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنَّا لَا نَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ صُورَةٌ أَوْ كَلْبٌ وَكَانَ الْكَلْبُ لِلْحَسَنِ فِي الْبَيْتِ.
English Translation
It was narrated from Hadrat 'Ali (may Allah be well pleased with him) that Jibreel (عليه السلام) came to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and said: `We do not enter a house in which there is an image or a dog.` And the dog belonging to al-Hasan was in the house.
