حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ فَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا فَأَذَّنَ حِينَ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ ثُمَّ أَقَامَ فَصَلَّى فَلَمَّا كَانَ مِنْ الْغَدِ أَخَّرَ حَتَّى أَسْفَرَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُقِيمَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ دَعَا الرَّجُلَ فَقَالَ مَا بَيْنَ هَذَا وَهَذَا وَقْتٌ.
English Translation
Anas reported that a man asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) about the time of the Fajr prayer. He ordered Bilal to call the adhan when dawn broke, then he gave the iqamah and prayed. The next day, he delayed until it was light, then ordered him to give the iqamah and prayed. Then he called the man and said: "The time is between these two."
