حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْفَرَّاءُ عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ إِذْ كَانَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ زَبِيبٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ فَلَمْ نَزَلْ كَذَلِكَ حَتَّى قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْفَرَّاءُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عِيَاضَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.
English Translation
Waki' told us, Dawud ibn Qays al-Farra' told us, from Iyad ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Sarh, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: We used to give out the charity of Fitr when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was among us - a sa' of food, or a sa' of dates, or a sa' of barley, or a sa' of raisins, or a sa' of dried curd - and we continued to do so until Mu'awiyah came to us. Abd al-Razzaq told us, Dawud ibn Qays al-Farra' informed us, he said: I heard Iyad ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Sarh say that he heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri say: "We used to give out..." and he related the hadith.
