حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قُسَيْطٍ أَنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ أَخْبَرَاهُ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَسَمَ بَيْنَهُمْ طَعَامًا مُخْتَلِفًا بَعْضُهُ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ بَعْضٍ قَالَ فَذَهَبْنَا نَتَزَايَدُ بَيْنَنَا فَمَنَعَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَبْتَاعَهُ إِلَّا كَيْلًا بِكَيْلٍ لَا زِيَادَةَ فِيهِ.
English Translation
Ya'qub told us, his father told us, from Ibn Ishaq: Yazid ibn Abdullah ibn Qusayt told me that Abu Salama and Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Thawban informed him that they both heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri relate that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, distributed among them food of various kinds, some better than others. He said: "So we went and began bidding up prices among ourselves, but the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade us to trade it except measure for measure, with no increase in it."
