حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ دَرَّاجٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ إِبْلِيسُ أَيْ رَبِّ لَا أَزَالُ أُغْوِي بَنِي آدَمَ مَا دَامَتْ أَرْوَاحُهُمْ فِي أَجْسَادِهِمْ قَالَ فَقَالَ الرَّبُّ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا أَزَالُ أَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَغْفَرُونِي.
English Translation
Yahya ibn Ishaq narrated to us: Ibn Lahi'ah informed us, from Darraj, from Abu al-Haytham, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: Iblis said, "My Lord, I will not cease to lead the children of Adam astray as long as their souls remain in their bodies." The Lord, Mighty and Majestic, said: "And I will not cease to forgive them as long as they seek My forgiveness."
