حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ { وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِمْ مِنْ غِلٍّ } قَالَ ثَنَا قَتَادَةُ أَنَّ أَبَا الْمُتَوَكِّلِ النَّاجِيَّ حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْلُصُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ مِنْ النَّارِ فَيُحْبَسُونَ عَلَى قَنْطَرَةٍ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ فَيُقْتَصُّ لِبَعْضِهِمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ مَظَالِمُ كَانَتْ بَيْنَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى إِذَا هُذِّبُوا وَنُقُّوا أُذِنَ لَهُمْ فِي دُخُولِ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَأَحَدُهُمْ أَهْدَى لِمَنْزِلِهِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مِنْهُ لِمَنْزِلِهِ كَانَ فِي الدُّنْيَا قَالَ قَتَادَةُ وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ مَا يُشْبِهُ لَهُمْ إِلَّا أَهْلُ جُمُعَةٍ حِينَ انْصَرَفُوا مِنْ جُمُعَتِهِمْ.
English Translation
Affan narrated to us: Yazid ibn Zurai' narrated to us: Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah narrated to us concerning this verse, "And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment" — he said: Qatadah narrated to us that Abu al-Mutawakkil al-Naji told them that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri told them: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The believers will be delivered from the Fire and detained on a bridge between Paradise and the Fire, where retribution will be exacted between them for the wrongs that were between them in this world, until, when they have been purified and cleansed, they will be permitted to enter Paradise." He said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, each one of them will be better guided to his dwelling in Paradise than he was to his dwelling in this world." Qatadah said, and some of them said: "Nothing resembles them so much as the people of a Friday gathering when they leave it."
