English Translation
Yahya b. Zakariyya b. Abi Za'idah narrated to us, Dawud b. Abi Hind narrated to us, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id, who said: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded us to stone Ma'iz b. Malik, we took him out to al-Baqi'. By Allah, we did not dig a pit for him nor bind him, but he stood up for us, and we threw bones and pottery shards at him. He became distressed and ran off until he stood firm for us in the open part of the lava field, and we threw solid rocks at him until he was silenced.
