English Translation
Ya'mar ibn Bishr told us: Abdullah informed us: Sa'id ibn Abi Ayyub informed us: Abdullah ibn al-Walid told us, from Abu Sulayman al-Laythi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said, "The likeness of the believer and the likeness of faith is like a horse tethered at its stake: it roams about, then returns to its stake. Indeed, the believer forgets [or slips], then returns to faith. So give your food to the God-fearing, and direct your kindness to the believers." Abu Abdur-Rahman al-Muqri' related it to us [in another version], and this one is more complete.
