English Translation
Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Halhalah, from Ata' ibn Yasar, from Abu Hurayrah and Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No fatigue, nor illness, nor anxiety, nor sorrow, nor hurt, nor grief befalls a believer — even the prick of a thorn — except that Allah expiates some of his sins because of it."
