حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ وَالْخُزَاعِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَقَالَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ قَالَ لَهُ إِنِّي أَرَاكَ تُحِبُّ الْغَنَمَ وَالْبَادِيَةَ فَإِذَا كُنْتَ فِي غَنَمِكَ أَوْ بَادِيَتِكَ فَأَذَّنْتَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَارْفَعْ صَوْتَكَ بِالنِّدَاءِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَسْمَعُ صَوْتَ الْمُؤَذِّنِ وَقَالَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ لَا يَسْمَعُ مَدَى صَوْتِ الْمُؤَذِّنِ جِنٌّ وَلَا إِنْسٌ وَلَا شَيْءٌ إِلَّا شَهِدَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ.
English Translation
Ishaq and al-Khuza'i narrated to us, Malik informed us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abdullah, from his father — and al-Khuza'i said: Ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Sa'sa'ah, from his father — that he informed him that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri said to him: "I see that you love sheep and the desert. So when you are among your sheep or in your desert and you call the adhan for prayer, raise your voice in the call, for nothing hears the voice of the muezzin" — and al-Khuza'i said: "nothing hears the extent of the muezzin's voice, jinn, human, or anything else" — "except that it will testify for him on the Day of Resurrection." Abu Sa'id said: "I heard it from the Messenger of Allah."
