حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ أَخْبَرَنَا سَالِمُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ أَنَّ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ التُّجِيبِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا تَصْحَبْ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنًا وَلَا يَأْكُلْ طَعَامَكَ إِلَّا تَقِيٌّ.
English Translation
Abu 'Abd al-Rahman told us, Haywah told us, saying: Salim ibn Ghaylan informed us that al-Walid ibn Qays al-Tujibi informed him that he heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri - or from Abu al-Haytham, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri - that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "Do not accompany anyone but a believer, and let none but a God-fearing person eat your food."
