English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah has angels who travel about seeking out the gatherings of remembrance. When they find a gathering of remembrance, they sit with them and spread their wings over one another until they fill what is between them and the lowest heaven. When the people disperse, they ascend to heaven. Allah the Almighty asks them — though He knows best — Where have you come from? They say: We came from servants of Yours on earth who glorify You, exalt You, praise You, testify to Your Oneness, ask of You, and seek Your protection. He says: What do they ask of Me? They say: They ask You for Paradise. He says: Have they seen it? They say: No, O Lord. He says: What if they had seen it? They say: They would be even more eager and fervent. He says: From what do they seek refuge? They say: From the Fire. He says: Have they seen it? They say: No. He says: What if they had seen it? They say: They would flee even more. He says: I call you to witness that I have forgiven them. One of the angels says: Among them is so-and-so who is not one of them — he only came for some need. He says: They are a people whose companion will not be made miserable.'
