حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ مُؤَذِّنِ دِمَشْقَ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ لُدَيْنٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ صَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَقَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ يَوْمُ عِيدٍ فَلَا تَجْعَلُوا يَوْمَ عِيدِكُمْ يَوْمَ صِيَامٍ إِلَّا أَنْ تَصُومُوا قَبْلَهُ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The five daily prayers and from one Jumu'ah to the next Jumu'ah are an expiation for whatever sins are committed between them, as long as one avoids the major sins.'
