حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَعَى النَّجَاشِيَّ لِأَصْحَابِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ اسْتَغْفِرُوا لَهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ بِأَصْحَابِهِ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ كَمَا يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْجَنَائِزِ.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah created Adam in His image. His height was sixty cubits. Then He said: Go and greet those (angels) and listen to what they respond with, for that will be your greeting and the greeting of your descendants. He said: Al-salamu alaykum (Peace be upon you). They said: Al-salamu alayka wa rahmatullah (Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah). So they added wa rahmatullah.'
