حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلْحَيَّاتِ مَا سَالَمْنَاهُنَّ مُنْذُ حَارَبْنَاهُنَّ فَمَنْ تَرَكَ شَيْئًا خِيفَتَهُنَّ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Adam and Musa argued with each other. Musa said: O Adam, you are our father who disappointed us and brought us out of Paradise. Adam said: O Musa, Allah chose you with His speech and wrote for you with His hand — do you blame me for a matter that Allah decreed for me forty years before He created me? So Adam prevailed over Musa in the argument.'
