حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ مَرُّوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجِنَازَةٍ فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا فِي مَنَاقِبِ الْخَيْرِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَبَتْ ثُمَّ مَرُّوا عَلَيْهِ بِجِنَازَةٍ أُخْرَى فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا شَرًّا فِي مَنَاقِبِ الشَّرِّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَبَتْ إِنَّكُمْ شُهَدَاءُ اللَّهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ.
English Translation
Yazid told us: Muhammad informed us, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: A funeral passed by the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and they praised it well, citing its virtues, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is warranted." Then another funeral passed by him, and they spoke ill of it, citing its faults, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is warranted. You are the witnesses of Allah upon the earth."
